Identity Self-Service / IAM Self-Service
The following services are provided as self-service capabilities for user and workforce identities in an identity management system:
- Self-service password management
- Self-service access request management
- Self-service profile maintenance
1. Self-Service Password Management
Self-service password management is a process or technology that allows users who have forgotten their password or whose account is locked to authenticate themselves through an alternative method and resolve the issue without contacting the help desk.
Self-service password management solutions perform password reset and account unlock operations by communicating directly with the user directory, such as Active Directory.

2. Self-Service Access Request Management
Workflow automation is the design, execution, and automation of processes based on workflow rules. Human tasks, data, or files are routed between people or systems according to predefined business rules.
Workflows allow business users and automated processes to request and approve access changes.
These changes are implemented according to predefined Identity and Access Management rule sets.

3. Self-Service Profile Maintenance
Self-service profile management is a process or technology that allows users to change their name, telephone number, address, photograph, and other profile details without contacting the help desk or support team.
